Introducing StoryBox – the new name for VideoGenie
VideoGenie is excited to announce that, as of today, we are changing our name to StoryBox. That name might sound familiar. We’ve previously used it for our core technology platform. Why are we changing our name? We were and are committed to helping companies tell their stories, but the way in which we do that has evolved.
We began in 2009 as a video testimonial creator and distributor. We’re now so much more. Today, we combine the power of customers’ own pictorial and video voices with the best technology platform to collect, evaluate, analyze, and display earned media. This unique blend empowers brands to capture the passion, creativity and perspective of real people and their stories. We believe the StoryBox name better communicates what we do and offer, and where we plan to go from here.
We value serving each of you and thank for your support. We hope we’ve earned your trust, and that you’ll soon embrace the StoryBox name with as much enthusiasm as we have.

VideoGenie Rebrands Company to StoryBox: Unveils New Name, Website and Logo
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 20, 2014) – VideoGenie, a San Francisco-based technology startup specializing in helping companies tell their brand story, today announced the rebranding of the company and new name: StoryBox. The StoryBox name derives from one of the company’s successful technology platforms, StoryBox, which just debuted last March.
StoryBox combines the power of customers’ experiences and enthusiasm as told through their words, pictures, and videos, with the best technology platform to collect, evaluate, analyze, and display earned media. This unique blend empowers brands to capture the passion, creativity and perspective of real people and their stories.
“This change from VideoGenie to StoryBox marks a major expansion of our platform and outlook,” says Justin Nassiri, CEO. “We started with video as it’s the most visually compelling medium for storytelling, but also found it to be the most challenging technically. At StoryBox, we are signaling that we recognize great stories come in all shapes and sizes, and we’re building the simplest way for customers to share their thoughts and experiences however and wherever they’d like.”
Along with the name change, StoryBox has adopted a new corporate identity, including a new logo, visual system, and website, which can be found at www.GetStoryBox.com.
StoryBox helps marketers capture and leverage customers stories to better tell their brand narrative. Everyday, customers use their voices, pictures, videos, and words to share their experiences with products and services. These stories are the most trustworthy, shareable, and memorable way to learn about a brand. Founded in 2009, StoryBox has helped tell the stories of hundreds of companies, including Anheuser-Busch, Disney, Levi’s, and Mammoth Mountain. StoryBox is located in San Francisco, California, and is backed by Google Chairman Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors and Blumberg Capital.
